Mussomeli embraces the Tenuta Rooster project. Typical products and authenticity
A new family-run business whose motto is "Innovation while respecting tradition"
Ours is a simple story, made of land, hard work, and love.
We were born in Mussomeli, in the heart of Sicily, and we continue a family tradition rooted in the past but confidently looking to the future.
It all began in 1950, when our grandparents, Salvatore Piazza and Concetta Mistretta, with the courage of those who dream big, purchased a small farm in the Polizzello area. With little means but a great deal of determination, they started a sheep farming business.
They were hard years, but full of hope. Years in which we worked from dawn to dusk, with the scent of hay and the sound of sheep bells marking the days.
A few years later, aided by their sons Biagio, Totuccio, and Alessandro, to whom the passion for the land had been passed on, they developed the company thanks to the introduction of mechanical agricultural processing. With them came the first innovations: tractors, combine harvesters, and the desire to grow.
Thus, step by step, the farm has become one of the most modern in Sicily.
In 1992, the Cooperativa San Giuseppe 92 was founded, one of the first agricultural machinery cooperatives in the region.
Today, the farm continues to work respecting ancient family traditions, but with a constant eye on innovation.
And this is where we, her grandchildren, Laura and Maria Cettina Piazza, come in: with pride, respect, and a strong desire to breathe new life into everything that has been passed down to us, we have brought our contribution of freshness, vision, and new skills.
This is how Tenuta Rooster was born, a new family-run business whose motto is:
"Innovation while respecting tradition."
Our mission is to produce good, authentic products that speak of our land and our grandmothers.
We preserve Grandma Concetta's ancient recipes like little treasures: simple, authentic flavors that taste of home.
We deeply believed in this project, and to make it happen, we participated in the "PSR Sicilia 2014–2022 – Measure 19" call for proposals, promoted by the GAL Terre del Nisseno. After a careful selection process, our project was awarded: a great feeling, which gave us even more strength to continue.
Our dream is to make these products known throughout the world, but without ever forgetting where we come from.
Because every jar, every bottle, every perfume contains a story. Ours.
